Unless you been living under a rock somewhere, you will probably know Cher from her academy award winning movie roles, her top selling recordings of songs we all know, or maybe you know of Cher because of her Cher Workout called New Attitude.

She trained at Vince's Gym in Studio City, California.

Vince Gironda was quoted saying the following about her:

"Without her elaborate costumes and hairdos, few people would recognize her in the gym. But what a good sport. What a sense of humor!"

Cher presents a workout in her New Attitude video online that is more than just an aerobics or a step class. It's a damn fine workout which is split in the following way:

Warmup by stretching and stepping on a step-box or a step anywhere, you step up and down for 10 minutes is followed by some intense calisthenics which is all done to music. The workout gets you that after-burn effect you're looking for when the objective is fat-loss.

Cher is now over 70 years old and still looks like she's got the body of a teenager. But in her own words, it comes from hard work which she does because it improves her ability to work. Cher is known as the Goddess of Pop; described as embodying everything that describes female autonomy in the very male-dominated entertainment industry.

She still works out every day at 70 years old and is probably going to outlive all of us but just as she says herself, it comes from effort and planning. She describes in great detail how people who get fat are people who are impulse driven and never plan ahead.

She says health and fitness is not genetic or something you stumble upon, it's a planned way of life where you decide to take control. It takes time, patience, persistence and planning. She says if she walks out of her door without thinking about where and what the next meal is going to be, she feels lost because she plans ahead.

But Cher also trained with weights to tone her body, as Vince's Gym was famous for - no music, no aerobics, just basic free-weights and hard training.
